Monday blogg madness {numeral cuatro}
Happy New Year's Everyone! I hope you're having a better New Year's Eve than I am... because this cold is still kicking my butt. I have lots of stuff to post about when I get feeling better though. I bought some new make-up that I want to tell you about, and I did go shopping so I have some new clothes. But, until then... here are my favorite posts from the last week and this is my last post for the year!

Quick feature
I was just reading through all of my subscriptions and noticed that my Weight Loss Journey post was featured on Craftberry Bush, so I just wanted to say thank you!
Sick & popsugar must have box
I'm bummed!
I have today, tomorrow, and the 1st off of work. I have had that much free time in MONTHS. I was really looking forward to going shopping and spending my Christmas money & giftcards, and taking some beautiful pictures of all the snow we have gotten, and taking some fashion pictures for you all to see on here. And going out for New Years Eve, of course. BUT... I have the most horrible cold EVER!
I've had it for three days now, and it doesn't seem to be getting any better. I have tried a number of different medicines to at least make it manageable, and nothing has worked. Well, 800mg of ibuprofen has made the sinus pressure headache a little more manageable.. but that's it!
Its 2:37pm and all I have accomplished today is taking a shower and folding a small load of laundry (and that was all in the past hour! I slept all day). This is not how I planned on spending my mini staycation.. I guess its better that I'm sick while I'm off work, but still.
So, I doubt you'll get pictures of pretty outfits or pictures of the beautiful snow... or a post about all of my shopping finds. I can take pictures of what a 24 year-old sick girl looks like, but I doubt you want to see those. If you have any suggestions, I will take them... because so far, nothing has helped.
....But.... on a good note: A couple posts ago, I mentioned in my Julep Maven post that I wanted to join this subscription box called POPSUGAR Must Haves. I finally did it. I'm pretty excited to receive my first box, and have no idea what will be in it.
But basically, the POPSUGAR box is different from any other subscription box in that they offer products from all different areas of your life. So, you'll get a Home, Beauty, Food, Fashion, and Tech item (and maybe even more).
I also figured out that if you refer people, then you are able to earn free months. So, if I refer two, I get one month free. If you would be interested in something like this, they offered me a coupon code to new subscribers. Enter REFER5 to earn $5 off your first box.
I'll make sure to write up a post when I receive my first box! A little bit of brightness to my depressing, sickly day. :)

My year in review {2012}
I thought it would be fun to do a year in review of photo. This year was a year full of its ups and downs.. but overall, I'd say it was one of the best. I have some of the best people surrounding me, and all I can do is enjoy my life. I wanted to share some of that enjoyment with you!
January
Okay, okayyy... So this is actually New Year's Eve. Another couple, Boyfriend, and I decided to go to the city, go shopping, get a hotel room, and just do something different than our normal everyday lives. We did have a good time.. but it was at this point when I realized that something needed to change with my weight. My friend and I could not get a picture that I liked (and I had the huge zit on my chin... EW! Hehe)
February
In February, the highlight was our weekend snowmobiling. Last winter was pretty mild, but crossing the Ohio-Michigan border was like a magic line. (We only live approx. 40 miles from the stateline). There wasn't a ton of snow, but enough for us to get a couple hours of riding in.
March
We decided to do it big for St. Patty's day! We went out for some green beer at a local bar (notice the hint of green on our teeth) and then to a friend's party. We had a ton of fun this night and met a lot of new friends!
April
Happy Birthday to me! I had a ton of fun this night.. We started the evening out with dinner at Buffalo Wild Wings and then had a get together back at my place. It was so great to be surrounded by my closest friends on that evening.
May
One of our highschool friends got married during this month. Weddings are so much fun and I especially love being able to dress up!
June
The little miss in May's photo had her 3rd birthday during this month. This picture was taken during her very windy birthday party. She's one very spoiled, special little girl... and we all love her!
July
It was so hard to find a picture to represent July! But I definitely think this one is the winner.. we had so much fun during this month (almost enough to make me wish I could relive it on repeat!). But we did spend a lot of time swimming in our friend's pool.
August
In August, we went up to Michigan International Speedway to watch the NASCAR race. This was my 2nd time going and we had a ton of fun! Every summer, my boyfriend and his family have the opportunity to do some work up there for one of the companies, and they earn us free tickets to go back in August. The seats are great... and its definitely a fun experience if you've never been to one!
September -- No Picture :(
October -- No Picture :(
November
We did a lot of sitting around bonfires during November. In Northwestern Ohio country, its one of our favorite activities in the fall.
December
This basically sums up my month of December... Work! Thankfully, I have a great work family and thoroughly enjoy my job! And, this will give you a little preview of whats to come... working off some of the tummy fat I've gained this month from not eating well!
See you next year! ;)

Empties review {bi-facil}
I have another empties review for you all today! This time it is Lancome's Bi-Facil Eye Makeup Remover. I received this product as part of a free gift with purchase. Sometimes when shopping at department store counters, you are able to receive goodie bags with your purchases. At my local Elder-Beerman, I was able to receive a handful of products with a $35 purchase at Lancome (which I used on makeup primer). Some of the products I received were a cute clutch, skincare samples, a juicy tube lipgloss and an eyeshadow palette.
So, I received this product for free with my purchase... and it is only a sample size anyways (a couple of ounces?) According to Lancome's website, a full-size bottle of this product will run you $27. Call me cheap, but this seems like a lot for something to take make-up off...
Besides the price, I really like this product. I had never really used an eye makeup remover before, but now I think I'm hooked. I liked this one because it was non-irritating and very moisturizing to the eye. Not sure if it was just how I was using the product... but I would use this at night to remove my eye makeup, but then I would have to use it again in the morning because I would have some mascara run off from my shower (but my cotton pad looked cleaned the night before).
I apologize for the quality of this picture. I tried to clean it up before posting, but the picture itself was just too blurry. |

Final review:
Pros: Extremely Moisturizing without being oily
Cons: Price tag
Repurchase: Probably not, at least not before trying other products first.
Julep maven
A couple weeks ago, I was doing my blog readings and someone posted about subscription website... all of those boxes that you receive once a month (like Birchbox, for example). I apologize that I don't remember what blog it was on, but I know I commented.. so if it was you, please let me know! I'd love to give you credit for you post. :)
Well, on their list of subscriptions that they talked about.. there was one for Julep nail polish posted with a coupon code to sign up for the box for only a penny! I couldn't resist. I'm not sure if I'll keep the subscription (because I don't know if I can necessarily afford it at $20ish/month) but I do love what I received!
I have used both Alfre and Natasha in just the two days that I've received my order. I'm really loving Alfre. I had never used Julep polishes before. I know I had seen them, but I assumed they were one of the polishes with the pointed brush for painting designs on your nail. They actually are not, they do have a full size brush. (When I was looking on their website earlier, they posted that they changed their brush to a flat, square edge). The polish itself is highly pigmented and thin... which I prefer in a nail polish. This makes it easy to spread and because you can cover your nail in one coat, I feel like it lasts longer.
If you are interested in signing up for the program yourself, feel free to click the link above to be directed to the website. I do receive "referral points" which I can eventually use toward product... besides that, I am not being reimbursed by Julep for this post and all of the above opinions are entirely mine.

From Left-to-Right:
- Pedi Creme sample
- Alfre Nail Polish
- Pink loose glitter pot
- Natasha Nail Polish (intro add-on for $4.99)
- Jodie Nail Polish
- Purple loose glitter pot
- Cuticle Oil roll-on

Pinned fashion thursday {sequins}
I am a sucker for sequins! And I thought it would appropriate with New Years coming up soon. I am somewhat ADD when it comes to sequins... kind of like my puppy when you say "squirrel". LOL. :)

Another pinteresting wednesday
My realization about kohls
A couple days ago, I decided to face the crowds. I was honestly scared for my life before going... I went to Kohls on the Saturday before Christmas. {Insert horror music here}
Of course, while I'm there... I just HAD to look at items for myself. I did buy a couple new things, in addition to the gift I was picking up. ($35 for myself versus the $15 gift.. that's not bad, right? RIGHT?)
Here's what I got:
Not going to lie, I'm pretty excited about my purchases.
But... I did go into the dressing room with, like, a BAZILLION items. (Yes, Bazillion is a word... I
think I heard it in Calculus or some other really smart math class).
I mostly had items LC Lauren Conrad (which is my favorite.. check out my
Most Blogged About Fashion Brands). I also had items from Rock & Republic and Jennifer Lopez
Collection.
While I was in the dressing room, I got to thinking...
When I started shopping at Kohls a few years ago, I had such a hard time. I am in that "Not Juniors,
but Not Womens" stage of clothing. When we first got a Kohls in my town, it was either one extreme
or the other. And I really didn't like it!
But then a miraculous thing happened... Lauren Conrad came out with her own line for Kohls.
And then another brand, and another popped up. They all seemed to be more geared for my age
range, even though they're considered Women's clothing. But, on my journey of discovering
these new clothing brands... I've discovered some other things.
What I've discovered is... LC Lauren Conrad is my ABSOLUTE favorite brand at Kohls, still; Rock
and Republic has some awesome styles, but does anyone else agree that they're clothes fit weird?
You'd think that for such a mainstream brand, their clothes would fit a little better; and Jennifer
Lopez has some awesome styles, but none of it is meant to be worn. Her clothes fall apart and just
aren't logical. I've already returned one shirt from her line after only a day of wearing it because the
accents were falling off the sweater.
I don't wear a whole lot from other lines at Kohls, besides SO, which is a junior's brand (Mostly my
basics). But, this is just what I've discovered. I mean, I like Rock & Republic and Jennifer
Lopez Collection, but they just don't make sense for the average American Women!
I would love to hear from anyone who disagrees with me. I would be willing to give both lines a
second chance... but, no one will ever take the place of my beloved Lauren Conrad. :)

Musical wednesday {spectrum}
I heard this song awhile back... and even more-so amazing than the song, is the music video. There is just something hypnotizing about this, making me feel so lovestruck.

Monday blogg madness {numeral tres}
Okay, its a day late! But I didn't want to miss doing this post because I know it is a favorite. I have the official favorite blog posts from other blogs for the past week...
Thank you to all of the bloggers out there who write these posts & give us such great inspiration! I hope you all had a Merry Christmas!

Merry christmas to all
Merry Christmas & Happy Holidays
to all of my Readers! I appreciate you, so!
I hope everyone is having a very Merry Christmas this year! I only have one more Christmas dinner to go to (out of five)... so I think its safe to say that I officially survived Christmas 2012 (and the end of the world).
I hope all of you out there are enjoying good times with family & friends and are eating some good foods. Unfortunately, a couple of my close friends are spending times with their little babies in the hospital this year... and I hope none of you are suffering through anything similar.
I love & cherish all of my friends and family! They have spoiled me with gifts this year, and altogether, my life is truly unbelievable. I can officially say that I am entirely thankful my life and reason for being here.

Christmas Gifts from my Honey
I seriously have the best honey ever... He decided tonight that he wanted to exchange gifts
because he just couldn't wait any longer. Of course, I agreed (even though I didn't have all
of his gifts wrapped yet). Here is what I received from him:

The Switch:
Okay, I'll be honest. It's been awhile since I've seen this movie.. It actually took me a couple
minutes to remember what it was even about. But, he remembered that when we rented it,
that I thought it was pretty funny. The fact that he remembered (more than I even did!) made
me appreciate the gift even more!

21 Qt. Stock Pot:
Sooo... He thought he bought me a canner. Its okay though. He tried :) And it looks just like
the canner that his parents own. We can definitely use it as a canner, though. We just need to
find something to use as a rack.. this will just make the process much easier.

Viva la Juicy Set:
I am OBSESSED with Viva la Juicy. I first smelled it right before Christmas last year, and
by then, it was too late. This perfume is probably the only thing I have talked about for the
past year. Not going to lie, I screamed a little when I unwrapped the box.

Sauder Woodworking Furniture:
First, he bought me a storage cabinet. He remembered that I mentioned I wanted one to
store all of my Scentsy stock in. Apparently, carrying this box, by himself, almost killed him
because it was very heavy (the box is about 7 ft. tall). But then, he went and bought me a
coffee table/end tables and a matching tv stand. When we moved into our house almost a year
ago, we started with just about no furniture. We've haven't had any living room tables (we did
have a tv stand) the entire time, an I have always been on the lookout. Now, I need decor for
my new tables. :)

On a side note: He bought our dog, Colt, one of those pre-made dog toy stockings from
Wal-mart for about $5. Let's just say we gave him his gift first, about 3 hours ago, and he's
already destroyed most of the toys inside the stocking. Destructive little puppy!
