January popsugar must have box

I apologize... this post is a little late. I received my first POPSUGAR Must Have Box about a week ago, and I'm loving it!

You can click here if you want to see my initial post explaining what the POPSUGAR Must Have box. But basically, each month has a theme and the editors of POPSUGAR pick out some of their personal favorites within that theme. Subscribers then get a box FILLED with stuff all for $35 (and free shipping). It's really a great deal, and you'll see why after finding out what I received this month.

So, this month, their theme was related to Fitness and Indulgence.

Merrithew Stability Ball. Retail Price $36.99. I'll be honest, I actually haven't gotten this out of the box yet. My motivation to work out is really low right now. But, I do really enjoy crunches on a stability ball, and just ab workouts in general. Maybe when my motivation to exercise comes back, I'll do a post on some of my favorite ab exercises?

Popbar Hot Chocolate on a Stick. Retail Price $2.99/each. Boyfriend and I actually just enjoyed these Friday night. I received one Milk Chocolate and one Dark Chocolate. They were really good. It was just a richer hot chocolate than the boxes of powder mix you pick up from the store. I'm not sure if I would ever invest in these on my own, because I really don't drink a lot of hot chocolate. But it was a really good treat on a cold Friday night.

Think Thin Bars. Retail Price $1.69-$1.99/each. I received three of these, and this was actually the first product I tried. I broke into the Think Thin Crunch bar right after taking the above photograph. And then I ate the Creamy Peanut Butter Protein Bar a couple of days later for lunch. The Divine bar I actually gave away because it was Dark Chocolate Coconut and I really do not like coconut. But these were some of my favorite items in the box! I may actually buy these if I saw them somewhere.

Epicuren Discovery Lip Balm. Retail Price approx. $9. I am a sucker for lip balms because I hate having chapped lips. I really loved this one, although they make it in stick form and I would have preferred that. It has tea tree oil in it which makes your lips a little tingly. Its just a really light lip balm that makes your lips super soft. Your lips soak it up really quick though, so plan on reapplying about an hour later.

Remix Timebomb Watch. Retail Price $44.95. I was actually really excited to receive a watch! I have been wanting a new one... although I have been wanting a dressy watch. But this one is fun and I plan on wearing it in the summer. I received the watch in white (which I am glad because that is what I would have preferred). Its a large silicone band and the face has an LED light that makes the numbers flash a variety of colors.

As you can see, its pretty large for my wrist. What would be some good ways to dress it up in the summer? Should I just stack some beaded bracelets next to it?

Jet-Puffed Mallow Bits. Retail Price Approx. $5? I am not going to lie, I am really bummed that I forgot to put these with my hot chocolate sticks! Once again, probably won't use them a whole lot, and I haven't tried them yet.

Not Pictured: $15 Casetagram Gift Certificate. I would have LOVED to use this item. Casetagram uses your Instagram pictures to make a really neat case for some of your electronics, but mostly iPhones. Unfortunately, I do not own any of the items they make cases for and the $15 gift certificate doesn't cover the cost of a case anyways. But its a great idea!

Total Savings on Really Cool Stuff: $87.59

They also have a referral program, that I would be crazy not to tell you about. When 2 friends use my referral link to sign up, I will receive 1 month free. Then 5 Friends = 3 Months Free; 10 Friends = 6 Months Free.

Julep maven {neons & nudes}

I got the greatest surprise on Monday morning! We checked out PO Box, and I had a box in there from Julep. I never even realized it had been shipped.

This month's box was named "Neons & Nudes". Every subscriber received one nude shade, and one neon. I think I would have been much more excited about these colors if it had been closer to spring.

The pink shade I received is called "Madison" and is a pretty hot pink. The nude, "Grace", I'm not so fond of. It is very faint and you can't even see much color. It would be a good base for a french manicure. That clear, kinda pinky shade...

Then I received a Hand & Cuticle Stick with shea butand peptides. I'll be honest... I'm really not sure how to use this. Do I just rub it all over my hands and then rub it in? Do I rub it on my cuticles? Seems like it would be less work to just use a lotion. From my attempt to use it, it was a nice light moisture.

Julep also started supplying "swatch me" stickers. It wasn't until I got directions for these stickers that I realized the nailpolish lids are actually two pieces! You can take the outer lid off. Anyways, these stickers are nice if you can only see your nailpolishs from above, and to see what it would look like once it is on your nail.

My final goodie were three cute neon hairties (at least I'm pretty sure that's what they are). I think these would be great for working out, and will definitely be a staple in my gym bag, if I ever go to the gym.

If you're interested in receiving your own subscription box from Julep, just click here to be directed to their site.

Sick & popsugar must have box

I'm bummed!

I have today, tomorrow, and the 1st off of work. I have had that much free time in MONTHS. I was really looking forward to going shopping and spending my Christmas money & giftcards, and taking some beautiful pictures of all the snow we have gotten, and taking some fashion pictures for you all to see on here. And going out for New Years Eve, of course. BUT... I have the most horrible cold EVER!

I've had it for three days now, and it doesn't seem to be getting any better. I have tried a number of different medicines to at least make it manageable, and nothing has worked. Well, 800mg of ibuprofen has made the sinus pressure headache a little more manageable.. but that's it!

Its 2:37pm and all I have accomplished today is taking a shower and folding a small load of laundry (and that was all in the past hour! I slept all day). This is not how I planned on spending my mini staycation.. I guess its better that I'm sick while I'm off work, but still.

So, I doubt you'll get pictures of pretty outfits or pictures of the beautiful snow... or a post about all of my shopping finds. I can take pictures of what a 24 year-old sick girl looks like, but I doubt you want to see those. If you have any suggestions, I will take them... because so far, nothing has helped.

....But.... on a good note: A couple posts ago, I mentioned in my Julep Maven post that I wanted to join this subscription box called POPSUGAR Must Haves. I finally did it. I'm pretty excited to receive my first box, and have no idea what will be in it.

But basically, the POPSUGAR box is different from any other subscription box in that they offer products from all different areas of your life. So, you'll get a Home, Beauty, Food, Fashion, and Tech item (and maybe even more).

I also figured out that if you refer people, then you are able to earn free months. So, if I refer two, I get one month free.  If you would be interested in something like this, they offered me a coupon code to new subscribers. Enter REFER5 to earn $5 off your first box.

I'll make sure to write up a post when I receive my first box! A little bit of brightness to my depressing, sickly day. :)
